Not Zealous to Do All God Commands

on May 27, 2011

Read Joshua 16

Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim took their inheritance. But they did not drive out the Canaanites who dwelt there. Instead the Canaanites became forced laborers.

The children of Israel were eager to take their land, but not zealous to do all that God commanded. Instead they let the Canaanites live among them.

v10 And they did not drive out Canaanites who dwelt in Gezer, but the Canaanites dwell among the Ephraimites to this day and have become forced laborers.

We don’t know why God wanted the Canaanites destroyed. But we do know God is just, right, and true. He has his reasons, though we can’t understand it.

How are you doing at driving out what God wants removed from your life?

Lord thank you for your generosity to us. Help us to do all that you require, even when it doesn;t make sense. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
