God is Faithful and True

on November 1, 2011

According to the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so My Spirit remains among you; do not fear! Haggai 2:5 NKJV

God had gotten the people’s attention in chapter 1 of Haggai. The people were stirred and ready to rebuild the temple. The task seemed daunting as compared to the original temple.  The new temple didn’t even come close to the same grandeur of the first temple.  As the people began to despair, God the encourager says, “be strong and work; for I am with you.”

God doesn’t just say “I will be with you”, but He sends His Spirit to remain among them. With God’s Spirit among them, they are instructed not to fear. The psalmist said, “If God is for us who can be against us” and “What can meer man do to me when the Lord is with me?”

Over and over we are told what God says He does.  We have the proof in the historical record of the Bible. Everything the Lord said, He did.  Anything not done yet means the time hasn’t come yet. He is still planning to do it.

God is faithful and true.  He is with you. You can depend on it.

Lord thank you for your faithfulness. Thank you for your Spirit to be with us.  Thank you for giving us everything we need to live a godly life until you return. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
